As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing love stories unfold in the most beautiful ways, and T and M’s modern wedding in Minneapolis was one of those magical days that you never want to forget. From the moment I arrived at their bright, airy venue, I knew this day was going to be something truly special.
As is common with second shooting, I got the privilege of meeting T and M until their wedding day. When I first met them, they radiated sweetness and a quiet, genuine love for each other. Throughout the day, they never stopped stealing glances, holding hands, and making each other laugh. Those small moments were a joy to capture—the kind of moments that make you remember why you love this job.
As a testament to their playful nature, one of my favorite moments of the day came during the first look. M was expecting to turn around and see T for the first time, but instead, one of the they pulled off the ultimate prank. Dressed in a ridiculous, oversized dress, his brother tapped M on the shoulder, and when M turned around, there was a moment of pure shock followed by uncontrollable laughter. It was the perfect icebreaker before the real first look, which was as emotional as it was beautiful. T and M met on the hotel rooftop for an intimate moment, exchanging heartfelt, personal vows before the ceremony. Just before they finished, the hotel rooftop unexpectedly started playing music in the background, completely unprompted. Instead of it being a distraction, it added an impromptu soundtrack that made them smile, a little reminder that even the unexpected parts of the day were perfect in their own way.
The venue was a photographer’s dream! Picture a crisp, white space, bathed in natural light, with every detail perfectly chosen to reflect T and M’s taste—elegant, clean, and modern, yet warm and inviting. The florals were absolutely stunning, with soft, romantic tones of light pink, peachy oranges, and pale yellows that brought a beautiful contrast against the sleek white backdrop. Everywhere I turned, the florals seemed to float on air—delicate arrangements cascading from the altar, adorning the tables, and tucked into the corners in the most thoughtful way. It felt like stepping into a fairytale garden with a contemporary twist.
The ceremony was short and sweet - Underneath a floral arch, the couple exchanged vows that were heartfelt and deeply personal, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! The light streaming in through the venue’s large windows gave the scene an ethereal glow, adding an extra layer of warmth to an already emotional moment. I couldn’t help but feel like I was photographing a fairytale.
Then, as the day started to fade into evening, golden hour arrived. Oh, golden hour! Every photographer knows that this is when the magic happens, and T and M’s golden hour portraits were nothing short of perfection. We stepped outside just as the sun was dipping toward the horizon, casting the softest golden light over everything. The way the light hit T’s veil, creating this soft, glowing halo around them both, was breathtaking. T and M stood hand-in-hand, framed by a glowing sky, the warmth of the sun reflecting the warmth between them.
Their love was palpable in those moments, as the golden hues of the setting sun danced across the florals, blending seamlessly with the delicate pinks, oranges, and yellows that had been woven throughout the day. Every shot felt like a painting—soft, intimate, and filled with light.
The reception that followed was a joyful celebration, with more of those vibrant florals and clean white details continuing to add elegance to the room. As the evening drew on and the first dances began, the space came alive with laughter and love, the soft glow of candles flickering in harmony with the smiles on T and M’s faces.
T and M’s wedding was one of those days that reminds me why I’m so passionate about capturing these moments. It wasn’t just about the perfect venue, the stunning florals, or the beautiful light—it was about T and M, their love, and the way they made everyone feel that day. I’m so honored to have been part of it and to have captured their story, one frame at a time.
Here’s to T and M, and to many more golden hours together!
